Irony is a quality that increasingly belongs to brilliant and very creative people. Dodo Arslan is one of these: a sort of visionary inventor, part artisan explorer and part baby engineer.

Hidden behind the resounding vitality of Dodo Arslan is the mind of an investigator with a curiosity for discovering the intimate heart of things. For this, Dodo's character and work must be accompanied by an original image, a little sacrilegious and having a major impact. The quest for the unusual and even slightly retro has been the path for setting himself apart from the glossy world of design.

The title of the show, Le attrazioni della materia (the attraction of matter), was an excellent stimulus for creating something that needed to use NON digital techniques. In this specific case, Imille used mobile wooden characters for the cover. The image created was ultimately used in a publication that accompanied the artist's personal show.

“It is only by handling the material that you can truly learn what it involves, how they react to external stimuli”: Imille adopted this idea, simply by playing with the material and particularly by working directly against the setting stick, the traditional tool that enables the assembly of typographical characters, subsequently printed as a mirror image.

“When I saw the cover image created by Imille, I thought: They're mental! What will I tell my mum?!?”
