Between 2007 and 2009 Cartiere del Garda assigned Imille the task of creating an annual high-quality photography book, to better align the concept with various themes and to celebrate subjects strictly associated with sustainability.
The 2007 version saw 10 exquisite photographs on the theme A better city: 10 internationally renowned photographers led by the Imille appointed editor, Arianna Rinaldo, accepted the assignment of giving their personal view of certain things relating to the contemporary and sustainable city - the city's commitment to improvement, elements that can be viewed as getting better and different contexts from which the seed of an environmentally friendly city could grow.
In 2008 another 10 photographers used pictures to tell of the relationships people have with free time in a book called A better time: from the social commitment of volunteers in Italy to relaxing walks along the Bosporus and breaks on benches in the city of Paris; from simple daily gestures of friendship in Germany to the surprising deeds of a people not long free of war in Bosnia; from a rural area of Sweden to Australian aquatic sports so far from the beach life of Peruvian families; and the diverse customs of the different ethnic groups that populate modern Dubai to the silent withdrawal of Buddhist monks in Korea.
For the 2009 edition, 10 new photographers were selected for reports on businesses and enterprises notable for their policies of working sustainably, creatively and harmoniously. A better business provided 10 examples of large and small enterprises that, like Cartiere del Garda, carry on their operations with passion and responsibility. Ten stories from ten places, very different in substance, but united by the vision of a world that is changing and becoming ever more caring and responsible.
